By Ambika Nair
All gave money, cash and coins,
All placed their hands on their heart,
All sent gift baskets, presents, and food,
All attempted to do their part.
Some of the All took risks without fear
And had a longing to fight,
To fight for a cause so near and dear,
And bring their brethren shining light.
All sent cards, appreciations, and notes,
In them, they showed admiration,
But behind the sidelines they were trapped,
And gave their dear ones to the nation.
The few of the All sought liberties,
The country to regain its pride,
For they were the ones on the battlefield,
Sacrifice was what they did decide.
All gave some, but some gave all,
Some answered the nation’s call,
And though they watched their brother’s fall,
With pride they did stand tall.
