Finally!

This is the first post in like forever! Anyway, there hasn't been a change in results except for the fact that Ambika entered the spring contest. Come on, people! We need more poems! Well, Ambika was thewinner of the last Word of the week contest, because nobody else entered! (Well, the winner would probably still be Ambika...)

And the new word of the week is... witenagemot! Who will win this contest? The rules are a little different: this has to be a biginning of a story! Here is an example (no copying!):

"The witenagemot had to meet again! What sort of principle would they discuss this time? All assembled in the hall, and the called meeting started."

There also has to be a poem of the week, so:

I Hear the Piercing Cry

I hear the piercing cry
of the eagle
as it streaks across
the vast sky
other birds giving way
to the one that
rules
his wings are tipped
in silver and gold
he has flown for more
than a hundred years
as others before him
also did
he watches as they once
were a dying breed
now brought back
to take their
rightful place
the eagle
a mighty bird

Who will guess the correct author first? We'll see.
Until the next post, MAKE AN ENTRY FOR THE CONTEST OF SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Wait, I don't understand; does the sentence for Word of the Week have to be from the beginning of a real story or do you just have to make it up?

  3. "As the witenagemot assembled, we all bowed to the king, sitting so regally upon his glimmering, golden throne, and we also took chance to witness the nobles, gloating over themselves."
